How Membership Works
1. Keep Your Home Club BlackTee is designed to sit alongside your existing club membership. Your home club remains the centre of your golfing life—BlackTee simply adds the opportunity to play an exceptional rotation of premier away courses.
2. Access Our Curated Network Gain preferred-rate access to a carefully selected collection of host venues. Rather than a massive, impersonal network, we focus on premier courses that share high standards and values around the game.
3. Choose Where You Want to Play Explore available venues within your membership tier directly on our site. When you find a course you would like to play, simply request your preferred date and tee time window.
4. We Handle the Rest Our dedicated concierge team coordinates directly with the host venue to secure your tee time seamlessly. Once confirmed, we send you the details—all you have to do is turn up and play.
The Result: More variety. Exceptional venues. And great value every time you tee it up
FAQ’s - Everything You Need to Know
1. General & Membership Standards
-
A: We are a private society exclusively for low-handicap golfers. By pairing verified WHS indexes with a self-selecting member culture, we ensure every member shares a deep respect for the game, exceptional tempo, and effortless camaraderie on and off the course.
-
A: We track your 10-digit CDH (Central Database of Handicaps) number—managed via your home union/England Golf—to pull your live WHS Handicap Index. Your CDH is your unique database ID, while your WHS index is your dynamic scoring handicap.
-
A: Your membership remains active for your full membership term—our handicap limit acts as an entry threshold to maintain our playing culture, not a reason to boot members out! In BTC Tour events, you will always play off your live WHS index, but your strokes received on the day are capped at the maximum event index limit to keep competition completely fair.
-
A: Yes. To protect the fast pace of play and seamless atmosphere across our venue network, all non-member guests hosted by full members must hold an official WHS handicap index meeting the club's low-handicap standard (or the host venue's visitor rules).
-
A: Tiering is based on a combination of established course reputation, national rankings, and standard peak visitor green fee values. This ensures our membership structures offer exceptional, balanced value across every level of the network—from hidden-gem regional championship tracks to marquee venues.
2. Tiers, Guest Privileges & Payments
-
A: Our 30-Day Trial Pass lets you evaluate the concierge booking service and sample tour fixtures. Classic and Signature memberships unlock full access, priority booking windows across our venue network, guest hosting privileges, and Order of Merit leaderboard standing. Our Championship Tier offers our highest credit allowance, maximum venue access, and the unique flexibility to use your round credits directly for your guests.
-
A: Full members always host guests alongside their own play. How guest green fees are handled depends on your tier:
Classic & Signature Tiers: You use one of your included round credits for yourself, while your guests pay a flat, tier-specific member-guest rate via a secure payment link sent by the concierge prior to the round.
Championship Tier: You have complete flexibility. You can choose to pay the guest fee link directly for your playing partners, OR burn additional round credits straight from your Championship credit balance to cover your guests' rounds.
-
A: BlackTee members do not pay at the pro shop counter. Round payments are strictly used in two scenarios:
Trial Pass Members: Paying their flat, tier-specific round fee when booking a trial round.
Member Guests: Paying the flat member-guest rate for non-members playing in a member's fourball. Once confirmed by the concierge, payments are completed securely online, allowing your group to head straight to the 1st tee.
-
A: Trial passes are strictly for individual evaluation to allow you to test the service. However, because the Trial is free to join, any playing partners who meet our low-handicap criteria can easily sign up for their own Trial pass to join your tee time.
-
A: If you choose to upgrade to a full membership during or at the end of your 30-day trial, any unused trial balance or round credits will be credited directly toward your full membership fee
-
A: No. Trial passes are strictly limited to one per golfer. We verify every registration against your unique 10-digit CDH number, which prevents duplicate accounts.
-
A: Yes. We issue corporate invoices so memberships can be processed as a business expense. On individual plans, the account is paid by the firm but tied to a nominated, CDH-verified employee. Alternatively, our Championship Corporate Package allows a business to designate up to 3 named employees (all meeting low-handicap criteria) who can access the account's round allocation to play and host clients.
-
A: Corporate packages belong to the business, so you retain your seat and remaining round credits for the remainder of your membership term. If a named employee leaves, you simply submit a replacement employee to our concierge. Once their CDH number and low-handicap index are verified, playing privileges transfer smoothly to the new employee.

3. Weekday Course Access & Cancellations
-
A: Weekday access covers Monday through Friday (excluding official bank holidays, subject to host venue booking windows).
-
A: Think of us as your secondary home club with complete flexibility. You submit your preferred weekday dates and courses through our concierge service, and we handle the venue arrangements for you at negotiated member rates
-
A: Requests submitted during concierge operating hours (8 AM – 6 PM, Monday–Friday) receive an initial update within 2 hours and full booking confirmation within 24 hours.
-
A: Yes. Members can play any individual course in our network up to 4 times per membership term. This protects our host club relationships, prevents local membership cannibalisation, and ensures every BlackTee member enjoys equitable access and true weekday variety across the network.
-
A: If your plans change, you can cancel up to 48 hours prior to your tee time without losing your round credit. Cancellations made within 48 hours are subject to the host venue’s policy.
-
A: If a venue closes the course or cancels play due to adverse weather, our concierge will help you reschedule. If an alternative date doesn't work for your schedule, you’ll receive a full refund or credit for that round.
4. Credit Rules, Upgrades & Early Renewals
-
A: Your membership status and community access remain active for your full term, but to book further tee times, you will need to add credits. You can do this at any time by upgrading to a higher membership tier or renewing your membership early to start a fresh term with a full credit reset.
-
A: No. Individual green fee top-ups are not sold for member play. To play or host guests once your credit allocation reaches zero, simply renew your membership early or upgrade your tier.
5. The BTC Tour & Fixtures
-
A: We run regular bi-weekly fixtures on championship-quality courses. We intentionally cap our field sizes to create an intimate, tour-level environment—ensuring fast pace of play, a relaxed post-round atmosphere, and a leaderboard where genuine quality is rewarded.
-
A: Entering a BTC Tour fixture simply consumes one of your tier's included round credits.
-
A: Yes! Tour fixtures are open to all active members. If a Classic member uses one of their round credits to play a BTC Tour fixture hosted at a Signature venue, they enjoy full access to that event on the day as part of the series
-
A: Not at all. The BTC Tour is just one pillar of the club. You have total flexibility to play casual weekday rounds with your regular buddies, compete in tour fixtures for silverware, or balance both based on your schedule.
