Tidworth Garrison Golf Club

About the Club

Laid out on Salisbury Plain in 1908 by the famed architect Harry Colt, Tidworth Garrison is one of the South of England’s premier downland courses. Built on a chalk base, the course drains almost instantly, guaranteeing dry, firm turf throughout the year. Colt’s routing weaves through natural downland valleys, offering generous fairways that lead into well-bunkered, multi-tiered green complexes.

Key Details:

  • The Course: A Harry Colt downland design featuring sweeping fairways, free-draining chalk turf, and strategic green-side bunkering.

  • Championship Pedigree: Regular venue for Wiltshire County Championships and Army Golf Association finals.

  • Facilities: Historic clubhouse, PGA swing studio, Pro Shop, driving range, and short-game practice area.

  • The Playing Experience: Fast-paced downland golf where firm fairways give good roll and approach shots require smart distance judgment into Colt greens.
