Ashburnham Golf Club

About the Club

Established in 1894 and refined by JH Taylor and Harry Colt, Ashburnham is one of Wales' oldest and most revered championship links venues. Situated on the Carmarthenshire coast overlooking the Burry Estuary and Gower Peninsula, "The Ash" is widely celebrated for its tough, uncompromising out-and-back routing. The course weaves through large natural sand dunes and thick gorse, requiring complete accuracy and distance control into fast, subtle green complexes guarded by deep links bunkering.

Key Details:

  • The Course: A championship links course featuring classic out-and-back routing, natural dune corridors, gorse-lined fairways, and firm greens.

  • Championship Pedigree: Host to the Welsh Open Amateur, the PGA Seniors Championship, the Curtis Cup trials, and numerous national titles.

  • Facilities: Sprawling clubhouse with estuary views, PGA Pro Shop, practice driving ground, and short-game area.

  • The Playing Experience: A stern, traditional links test where navigating tight fairways and coping with strong estuary breezes tests every club in the bag.
